On May 4, our Upper Class students had the opportunity to visit the Statistical Office of the Republic, located in the building of the Provincial Government. During the visit, they attended an engaging presentation delivered by the Office’s experts, who introduced them to the core principles and methodologies behind their work. The students learned how data is collected, analyzed, and interpreted, and how these processes support informed decision-making at both the national and regional levels.

They also gained valuable insight into the daily responsibilities of a statistician, discovering how accuracy, critical thinking, and attention to detail are essential in this profession. The presentation highlighted the importance of statistics across various fields, including economics, education, and public policy.

In addition, the students were warmly welcomed by the head of the department, who spoke about the role of the institution in society and encouraged them to consider future careers in this area. The group received informative brochures about censuses and statistical research, which further deepened their understanding of large-scale data collection and its real-world applications.
