Yesterday (December, 4), AITA students gathered for another engaging session of the Debate Club, where the topic of discussion was “Do good looks matter?” The debate sparked thoughtful arguments from both sides, encouraging students to analyze the influence of physical appearance in social, academic, and professional settings.
One group argued that good looks can create advantages in first impressions, confidence, and even career opportunities. They highlighted how appearance can shape perceptions and open—or close—doors in various areas of life.

The opposing team countered that qualities such as character, intelligence, and work ethic ultimately outweigh physical appearance. They emphasized that while looks may attract initial attention, long-term success depends on skills, integrity, and personal values.

The discussion remained lively, respectful, and intellectually stimulating. Students demonstrated excellent critical-thinking skills, effective communication, and the ability to support their arguments with real-world examples.

By the end of the session, participants agreed that while appearance may play a role in certain situations, its importance varies widely depending on context, culture, and individual priorities.
The Debate Club continues to offer AITA students a valuable space to develop public speaking, reasoning, and teamwork—while exploring meaningful and relevant topics.
